WELCOME TO THE WORCESTER WHEELS CHARITY GALA ONLINE AUCTION

Worcester Wheels

Founded in 1997, Worcester Wheels is a non-profit charitable organisation dedicated to making a difference in the local community, providing transport services and day services connecting people who are lonely and isolated. Community Transport offers door-to-door transport for medical appointments, shopping trips, and social visits.  The day service is for adults and provides older people with both practical assistance and a chance to socialise.  Both services help build confidence, avoid isolation, promote mental well-being, and support bringing people together.
We are supported by 75 volunteers who give up their time to help deliver our services.  We would not be able to provide the services we do without their wavering support.

Testimonial by Peggy

Peggy continued to drive until the age of 99, where she decided it was time to hang up her car keys. After speaking to Peggy, she said, “I live in Callow End; without your Service I would struggle to do my everyday activities: banking in town, food shopping at my local supermarket, and attending my medical appointments. I am truly grateful to the Drivers who are punctual, kind, polite, and look after me. Thank you to everyone at Worcester Wheels for keeping me active in my community.”

Testimonial by Jane

Two and a half years ago, I was struggling with my mental health. I was introduced to the day service.  At first, I was very sceptical as I hadn’t been out socialising for many years.  The Worcester Wheels team encouraged me to try a day at the centre free of charge, and if I didn’t like it, I had lost nothing, but at least I had tried.  I went one Wednesday and made friends very quickly; I now call them my family.  It’s not just a day service; it is my chosen family.  It has truly changed my life. I have something to get out of bed each day; it gives me excitement and something to look forward to.  Every week, I get excited about attending and seeing my friends.  I don’t know what I would do without Worcester Wheels. Thank you.

After being bitten by a dog, I hadn’t realised the risk of infection. When I arrived at the Worcester Wheels Friendship Hub the next day, a staff member immediately picked up on the wound and took it upon themselves to help.
They arranged a doctor’s appointment for me, took me there, waited while I had a tetanus jab, and even helped collect my prescription before taking me back home.
I was overwhelmed by the kindness and care shown – they truly went above and beyond. ‘Grateful’ doesn’t even begin to cover it.
I have nothing but admiration for the entire team. My sons and I will be forever thankful.
Living alone can be incredibly isolating, but thanks to Worcester Wheels and the Friendship Hub,
my Wednesdays have become something to look forward to; they’re now truly precious.”
