Caldy RFC Armed Forces Day

About the Charity

Walking With The Wounded is a UK charity dedicated to supporting veterans who are struggling after military service.

Through personalised programmes focused on employment, mental health, and care coordination, the charity helps veterans regain independence, rebuild confidence, and find purpose beyond their time in the Armed Forces.

Their work delivers tangible, life-changing outcomes for those who have given so much.

Walking With The Wounded stood out as the ideal charity partner for our inaugural Armed Forces Day due to the meaningful and lasting impact they make.

We were particularly inspired by their ‘Longest Day’ fundraiser, and by veteran David Beer’s remarkable 12-hour cycling challenge.

With his son having previously played for Caldy RFC, this connection feels especially personal to our club.

We are proud to support such a fantastic organisation and to bring our community together to raise funds for this important cause.

Welcome To the Caldy RFC Armed Forces Day

On behalf of everyone at Caldy Rugby Football Club, we are delighted to welcome you to our very first Armed Forces Day as we take on Hartpury this afternoon.

Today is about more than rugby. It is an opportunity for our club and community to come together to recognise, honour, and thank the men and women who serve, or have served, in the Armed Forces.

Their commitment, resilience, and sacrifice underpin the freedoms we enjoy every day, and we are proud to dedicate this occasion to them.

We are equally proud to be supporting Walking With The Wounded, a charity whose work makes a genuine and lasting difference to veterans rebuilding their lives after service. The impact of their programmes is both powerful and tangible, and we are honoured to play a small part in supporting their mission.

To everyone who has contributed to today, whether through attending, donating, sponsoring, or participating in the auction, thank you.
Your support helps us not only recognise our Armed Forces community but also raise vital funds for an outstanding cause.

We hope you enjoy the day, the occasion, and the rugby.

Thank you for being part of it.
